      Bolster plate mounting the die cushion is the most cost effective way to 
      mount it. Sometimes it is the only available mounting method when press 
      bed does not have any ledges and bosses. Die cushion is basically hanging 
      from the bottom of the bolster plate and is mounted with four bolster mounting 
      rods per each die cushion. It requires four holes to be drilled and tapped 
      in the bottom of the bolster plate. 
      Die Cushions are designed so that mounting rods and mounting holes do not 
      to interfere with standard J.I.C. pin pattern (learn 
      more about J.I.C. pattern). Sometimes, when non-J.I.C. pattern is used, 
      there could be interference between pin holes and mounting holes. In this 
      case mounting holes location has to be changed. Usually these holes are 
      moved outside the pin pattern and an additional intermediate plate is used 
      that extends to new mounting holes locations. This type of mounting is called 
      Press Bed Mounted to the Bolster. |
