Press Bed Mounted die cushions are independent of the bolster plate thus
it can be removed at any time without the need of demounting die cushions.
This type of mounting usually involves a mounting plate that extends to
the press bed bosses or ledges. Die cushion sits on top of the mounting
plate. Depending on the press bed geometry, the mounting plate can be placed
on top of the boss or ledge or underneath it. Mounting structure is custom
designed and can also include raisors and suspension rods.
In many cases the press bed is already prepared for mounting die cushion.
Bosses or ledges are machined then and either tapped or thru holes are drilled.
With over 35,000 installations made, Dayton Die Cushion has a large database
of already designed press bed mounting structures for all press makes. |
